Surface Design on Silk, Textile Design*

The ability to design is a skill we develop by exploring and reflecting on all the elements of design as they relate to each other. Surface designers define the use of these elements in relation to trends, and the challenge of designing in layouts common to the surface design industry. As you expand your problem solving skills and a working knowledge of what the medium of painting on silk can do, you will develop a unique design signature.

*We are extremely excited about a new pilot program beginning this summer at Mendocino Art Center. Through a partnership with Woodbury University, academic credit will be offered at MAC for ten classes in five subject areas. Including Susan's Surface Design on Silk workshop under the subject area of textile design.
